Two Essilor innovations win gold awards
at the Paris Optical Show


Chareton-le-Pont (France), 3 October 2011 - At the Paris Optical Show (29 September - 2 October), Essilor was awarded two Silmo d'Or awards for its latest innovations: Optifog, the first anti-fog lens, and Mr Orange, the latest digital machine for lens mounting.

The Optifog lens represents a real scientific breakthrough and offers eyeglass wearers fog-free vision thanks to a hydrophilic coating whilst simultaneously offering all the optical and anti-smudge performance of Essilor lenses.

Mr Orange renews the heart of the Essilor Instruments range and gives a large number of opticians acces to the latest technologies. This new digital system allows them to master a wider range of lenses and frames, in particular for curved fittings, and provides them with an accurate and high performance response to market needs.

Essilor, world leader in ophthalmic optics, put innovation at the heart of its strategy and invests over150 million Euros each year in Research and Development. Essilor was recently ranked 25th in Forbes Magazine's listing of the world's most innovative companies.
